Draw a Shoe
EDM challenge - Draw a shoe: This is one of my favorite pairs of shoes. Leather clogs with a wooden heel. I tried this in color pencil. I am not sure how to get the look of leather - all the little crinkles and wrinkles. I also have a hard time with the bright highlights. Since I can't listen to the inner critic all the time, overall I feel ok about it. I actually like the heel. Anyone have suggestions on how to get that leather look?

Welcome! How wonderful to see such a talented new face. Your clog is great, your artichoke simply PErFecT. Your sister's blog is a 'must check often' site for me and I can see I'll want to keep a close eye on yours as well. Awesome.
Great job with the shoe, especially the wooden heel. Getting that leathery texture can be tricky, but I think you did fine on this one!

Thanks to eveyone for your kind comments. Linda, you're suppose to tell me how to get that leather look.

Hey great job. This is a fine drawing of a shoe!!
Hello,
I think your drawings are beautiful, especially as you've just started drawing. I like the clog very much, as I think you've captured the light and the colours well.
I wonder if using textured paper would help to get the leather look? If the paper was sort of wrinkled, the pencil would leave fine lines that might give it a leathery feel.
